The Toronto Bnei Baruch Kabbalah Study Group was given the incredible opportunity to contribute to the success of the children’s program and share the wisdom of Kabbalah with the next generation, our children.
- The children’s program in Toronto was founded in March 2008
- The program’s goal is to give children the knowledge of the wisdom of Kabbalah through games, media and songs
- The children’s program consists of exciting learning experiences: children discover the wisdom of Kabbalah through discussions, indoor and outdoor group activities, creative art projects, and games
- Children of age 4+ can participate in the program.
- Children who participate in the program are divided into groups of boys and girls according to their age: from 4 years old up to 10 years old
- Coordinators are appointed for each group of children to help them understand and adapt to the program
- The program takes place every Saturday; its duration is 2 hours
- Children arrive one hour before the lesson to have breakfast together and socialize
- Just before the lesson, children read a Kabbalistic text excerpt/article and prepare for the lesson given on Kabbalah TV
- Children usually have a discussion during a snack right after the lesson
- After each lesson we also write our impressions of each particular program and share them with other Kabbalah study groups in order to inspire these kinds of activities around the world
- The filming of the children’s program is made only when it is necessary
- Coordinators have weekly meetings to plan discussion topics and activities of the program
- In order to improve the program, meetings with parents and coordinators are held. Children are also invited to the meetings to share and discuss their impressions of the program
- The learning curriculum is based and developed in the Israel Bnei Baruch Kabbalah Education & Research Institute
- The children’s program consists of the following:
- Educational topics (coordinators prepare Kabbalistic material of the chosen children’s program topic)
- Discussions
- Games (according to the chosen topic) or creating video clips or songs
- Watching video clips
- Arts and crafts
- Snacks
- Once a month we provide outdoor activities that children can enjoy together (including visits to parks, to the swimming pool, Ontario Science Center and movies)
